In the videos a chopper is used, (beets were chopped) what is the name and where can I get one!
thanks
I recently got my Pro-2300 and some weston 3 mil bags. I got 11"x16" and one variety pack with "8x"12" and 8"x24" bags. If I were to continue to stock up on bags, what sizes have you found that you end up using the most? Or would it more be beneficial to purchase them in rolls? Also could we get a reputable Mylar bag source that you recommend and the sizes of those you use the most?
Happy New Year!!!!
I have learned a lot from your videos and website! And I definately want to try dehydrating myself.
Someone told me that when they fix lasanga their family eats half then they they cut up the other half and dehyrdrate it for another use. I would really like to learn how to do that if it it works well and other meal ideas that can be cooked, half eaten and half dehydrated for food storage and then how to rehydrate them to eat.
Thank you!
I live in Plainview Texas and I was wondering the nearest location of a LDS Cannery
I visited the LDS cannery in Kent, Washington today. They did not have any dry pack canning going on this day, but did give us tour of the facility (what a amazing place). We did buy a starter kit which included bean, rice and wheat for about $28 including tax. The woman who hosted us, suggested we call a woman Seattle Stake (?) and she would bring me in for the dry pack canning she is hosting in April. The people we met in this facility were quite kind and helpful to us. It was a very nice experience.

Tammy.....thank you for sharing your knowledge
Love your ideas, an Excalibur will soon be in our home.
Where did you get the upright french fry/dicer, and where do you order your oxygen packets from.
thanks
Renee
I too would like to know where you got your metal food chopper. Also, what brand of meat slicer do you use? Thanks so much!
Tammy, I heard you today on survivalblog! Great interview with Jack. We started canning in a big way this year to put up food stores, but after hearing that a lot of nutrition was lost I will be ordering an Excalibur as soon as we can afford it. I look forward to more recipes and ways to use dehydrated foods! Plus it takes up less storage space than canned veggies and fruit! Thanks for your work on the site.
Thank you for the kind words Scott. Regarding the dehydrator, we just opened registration for another Excalibur dehydrator giveaway today! The winner will be drawn at random and announced april 1st. Check out the Contact Us section for more information on registration. Good luck!
Where is a cannery located nearest eakly, OK. I know it will probably be an hour or so away. I love your website!
Tammy, you and this site are so amazing. I watched the video where you flew through that bushel of apples in short order. I got an apple peeler and instead of apples, I went to work on an eight pound bag of potatoes. In no time they were peeled, grated into hash browns and in the freezer waiting for a less humid day to dehydrate them. I'm learning. Thank you for what you do.
Thank you Tammy for all of the education you deliver. We first heard about your site from "The Survival Podcast" a few months back and I just can't get enough.
We were wondering if there are LDS canneries open to the public, aka non-LDS people. I called the cannery in Mesa, AZ and they said you had to be LDS or be with an LDS member.
Could you shed some light on this subject or if somebody else knows the answer any help would be great.
where is the cheapest place to buy the oxygen packets??
